Happy 1st Hannah!

Happy 1st birthday Hannah Rose! I can't believe it's been a year since your birth last Labor Day. To celebrate, I took the day off to hang out together just us.

We had a morning photo shoot.

I let you play with screw drivers.

We took a nice walk and another photo shoot. (There was play in between too.)

And when Daddy got home to assist , we had a final month-by-month photo shoot.

After dinner, we headed over to Downtown Naperville to enjoy frozen yogurt and presents.

At one, you have taken your first steps and are quite the talker. Your (English) vocab includes hi, bye-bye, ball, dog, duck, dada, mama, and baby.

We love you so much and look forward another year!

Goodbye to Nanny Gladys

Since we are moving from our "home" at Seth's parents into our new home in Lisle today, we had to say goodbye to our sweet nanny, Gladys.

Over the last six months, Gladys has been watching Hannah along with Emma, four months younger than Hannah and the daughter of some friends of ours. She has been such a sweet blessing to us. Not only has she cared for Hannah in our home most of the time, she has cared for Hannah as if she were her own.

Vamos a echar de menos!

11 Months

Each month, taking these pictures just gets harder and harder. Cue toy.

Eleven days of Hannah's eleventh month I was traveling for work in Germany. I hated being away, but was thankful for the ability to see/talk to my baby over Skype. Another eight days of this month was spent in South Carolina. See previous post for more on that!

South Carolina

The highlight of the month was a week vacation in South Carolina with the Pietrini's. While this is our seventh year on the Isle of Palm, the week was like none other with not one but two babes in tow for the first time.
Because we figured the babies wouldn't do well on at 16 hour car ride, and considering the mounds of extra stuff we need to bring to SC with us this time around, they boys (a.k.a. Seth, Jim, and Nathan) drove themselves and the "stuff" while the girls flew with the babies.
Always pointing that finger

We still managed to fly with all kinds of stuff.

Hannah is obsessed with Waylon, in case you didn't gather this from the pictures. Most of the time, Waylon could care less about paying attention to or playing with Hannah. Hannah, on the other hand, follows Waylon around, chases him thinking it's a game (really he just wants away from her), and she can't keep her hands off of him...and his hair!

Enjoy just a fraction of the pics taken during the week!

"Check me out ladies!"

This is the best we got in their matching outfits.

It is perfectly acceptable to toss your babies in a Pack 'n Play at a restaurant right?

Thanks Grammy & Grandpa for a great week!
